With that release date it still gives me plenty of time to round out the PLA, then tackle the USMC.

I'm trying to ignore the lure of the USMC, but the camo patterns on these bad boys are just too cool. Hopefully, the main rulebook will have rules for allies, so I can snag these with me EFTF army.

Well, they do look good. Thought I was going to get them to turn them into SEALs, but they do not have boonies on!

i think the move to gloves is a great idea and i love the bottoms of the trousers.
these are the test minis, and slightly bigger than the eventual ones, i was told on the day, but will be used as a base for how the others will be painted now they have the go ahead from mongoose. who ever painted these in china is amazing, and the fact the machines are then designed to reproduce this the best they can, is amazing.
overal there all amazing figs, i dont feel guilty for buying them as i know i dont have to paint them i can game with them straight away.

yes
i picked up 4 mea rpg men
they worked out on the day £2.50 each for simplicity, but i recon £3 each may be the eventual price to get people to buy the box sets. of course i could be wrong. basicly yhtey were figs from opened boxes that had broken figs in and were sent back ro something along those lines, so certain weapons were limited.

Well, I caved and bought some USMC on Saturday. Looks like I'm buying all four factions as of now. Man, I need to make a cut.

$30 for 8-10 guys - um - ok - I guess
$30 for 6?
We may have to proxy these
& why are SF types wearing helmets - they may in real life - but the models should have cooler head gear if for no other reasong to give them some differnetiation from the line pogues

Those are different helmets than what the "line pogues" wear.
And they're $24.95.
Still pretty expensive at around $4 per model, this is an elite unit choice, so there's less of them fielded at one time.
And hopefully if they get the quality issues ironed out, I wouldn't mind buying them at that price.

I think that's the issue. As a high pt cost, special forces unit not as many will sell compared to standard minis so your breakeven point in terms of sales is harder to reach if you don't raise the price a little. $4 a mini is still a heck of a lot cheaper than $3-4 a metal mini and paying someone to paint it or painting them yourself.

But I like painting my own minis.
