Ambush Valley - Vietnam expansion for Force-on-Force |
|
Just a bit of blatant self-promotion... My first suplement for Force-on-Force is due out this Xmas covering the Vietnam War.
Taken six months of work but it was worth it! I hope!!!

Can't wait to get my grubby little fingers on that one. Might be interesting even for Evo players - the scenarios at least.

Not for me... no real army lists, no point values only scenarios!
Correct me if I am wrong Piers!
(Piers and I have a long lasting history of different game likings; I am point oriented, he seems to love scenario driven games...)
Anyway, all the best with the game!

No it has real army lists in it... Ones that are actual TOEs rather than 40k style points pick ups.
By the way, all games are scenarios... Even points based games. Just so you know.
I also dont mind either sort of game, just depends what set of rules Im using, but all my games have well structured scenarios that balance play by victory points, even my points based ones... Im a big player of BKC and CWC both points based systems, yet again Agis you confuse your arguement with Leigh as one with me.
Odd that you cant play a system cos it has no points... Is that cos you cant be bothered to design a scenario? Or is just you dont like a bit of friendly competition to your WaW supplements?
Joke by the way, the two are totally different games, but Scream is right, no reason Evo players couldnt use the scenarios with their preferred rules.
Next up will be my Normandy and Eastern Front supplements that will be chock full of scenarios and REAL army lists and not a point in sight! Im also helping out with the Helmand supplement too...

I can certainly play a non points system, it is just not so much fun to me. And I have designed my share of scenarios for WaW or Pac War too.
To be honest I am also not soo much into Vietnam, maybe my reluctance also comes from that direction.
As far as actual TOEs are used as a definition for a real army list I can't agree.
For me real life TOEs are the starting point for game army lists, not the limitation.
If they are limiting the game we are no more talking about game design, we are talking about simulations - which are the HORROR for me.
@competition: No fear at all, I sell so little books, it would not matter at all. For me it is just part of the hobby!
As said: all the best with your game!

Did this ever happen? Did I miss the release?
