EFTF British Army SAS Section - Preview images |
|
The most famed and renowned special forces unit comes to Battlefield Evolution!
This SAS section contains some of the toughest and most capable soldiers to take to the battlefield. Each fire team is equipped with a Minimi Para MG (swappable for a Barrett M109 sniper rifle), while every other section member has an M416 with underslung grenade launcher. Once dug into cover, the SAS section is almost impossible to root out, while their Stealthy special rule will allow them to simply bypass many enemies on their way to an objective. Furthermore, the SAS are masters of well-timed ambushes, and can lie hidden on the tabletop for the perfect moment to unleash a devastating attack. There is no finer unit of infantry in the game.
This box set contains a complete eight man SAS section, complete with two extra M109 sniper rifle-equipped soldiers to fulfil all possible unit options.

I'm really digging these minis. However, did anyone else notice that you get 10 nicely painted and camouflaged figures for the same price of 8 so-so painted and non-camouflaged MEA infantry?
Makes me wonder if the camo patterns are easier to paint

I think part of it is the # of colors on these vs. the MEA. There is some difference in having multiple painting workstations for each color or the time needed for a single painter to switch between colors.
Removing layer depth for hightlights there are about are 14-15 different colors on the MEA vs. the 7-8 on EFTF camo.

Yeah, probably true. I've had a much more difficult time of it painting camo patterns as opposed to solid color clothes.

Here is a close up pic from yesterdays openday
The SAS look sooooo cool.
The paint jobs are getting better with each shipmment the brit infantry units I picked up yesterday are as good as the wave two command squad.
